Although it is becoming more and more popular, Android Auto is not standard in every car. Nor does every trim include the feature. When considering a new car, it’s a good idea to see if it’s compatible with your smartphone to make it easier to manage tasks while driving. If you’re considering a 2023 Chevy Silverado, if you have an Android-based phone, here’s what you need to know.
2023 Chevy Silverado trim at a glance
With the 2023 Silverado 1500, Chevrolet is determined to give buyers everything they could want in a big truck. It offers a whopping nine trim levels: the base model WT (starting at $46,395), Custom ($50,395), Custom Trail Boss ($52,595), LT ($54,495), RST ($56,995), LT Trail Boss ($58,395), ZR2 (71,895), LTZ ($61,095) and High Country ($66,395). Each offers attractive powertrain options and features to please potential buyers.
The 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500 offers four powertrain options, each with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The WT (Work Truck), Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT and LT Trail Boss have a 2.7-liter four-cylinder turbo engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. This version produces 310 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque and can reach 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. The RST, LTZ and High Country have a 5.3-liter V8 engine with 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque, and a 10-speed automatic transmission. And the ZR2 has a 6.2-liter V8 with 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
You can add these more powerful motors to most finishes. There is also a 3.0-liter turbo diesel inline-six option that offers greater fuel efficiency. The first three powertrains have teenage gas mileage in the city and on the highway, but the turbo diesel numbers are in the low 20s.
In addition, the Silverado 1500 2023 is available in Regular, Double and Crew Cab styles.
It also has a slew of infotainment features anchored by a 13.4-inch touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
Does the 2023 Chevy Silverado have Android Auto wireless?

If you’re using an Android phone, you’ll be happy to know that the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 includes Android Auto and wireless Android Auto in every kit except the WT. You must purchase a modified version or higher to get this smartphone feature in your 2023 Silverado.
But if you do, you can access Android Auto by connecting your smartphone to your truck with a USB cable. Or you can connect to wireless Android Auto using the Silverado’s built-in Wi-Fi. This makes it easier for you to make calls, manage smartphone files and use your phone’s features while on the go.
With the latest update – Android Auto 8 – you are also free from many glitches that plagued previous versions. However, a more intuitive interface that Google announced with Android Auto 8 is not there yet. When it finally rolls out, Android Central reports that drivers will have access to a new split screen that will make accessing their favorite apps much easier.
Other technical features in the new Chevy Silverado
The Chevy Silverado 1500 also integrates other popular Google apps into its infotainment system, including Google Play, Google Maps and Google Assistant. But iPhone users need not worry. Apple CarPlay is standard in every kit except the WT.
Amazon Alexa integration is also available in lower trim levels and standard in some higher tiers, Chevrolet says. In addition, the Silverado has Bluetooth and a Teen Driver system that allows parents to monitor their teens’ driving behavior remotely. It also provides new drivers with audible and visual warnings when they are not driving safely.
And if you opt for the top-of-the-range High Country, you get a Bose sound system with seven speakers, wireless charging and a remote control that can be linked from the truck to security systems and other services. Among its multiple finishes, optional upgrades and packages, the 2023 Chevy Silverado offers drivers and passengers some of the best onboard technical features on the market.
