Google introduces Apple-like Find My for Android


Google just teased the arrival of the Find My Device app. which is similar to Apple’s Find My, in the latest Play System 2022 update.

In 2021, there were reports suggesting that Google was working on a new application similar to Apple’s Find My network, but there has been no further development on the same since then. The anticipated Find My Device app on the Android platform makes it easy to locate any lost or stolen Android device even without a network connection.

In its recently updated December 2022 Play system, Google said a new “privacy-focused framework” has been integrated into Find My Device, which provides encrypted alerts about the last known location. The explanation may be a hint that Find My Device will soon be rolled out for Android devices.

The XDA Developers, a mobile software development community, tweeted about Google Find My Device support.
