How to Enable Weather Alerts on Android 12


If you buy an Android phone today, the Weather and Google apps come preinstalled. With the right permissions, these apps integrate with your operating system to send notifications of the current weather situation in your area. They can also notify you of stormy and dangerous weather conditions. Let’s see how to enable weather alerts in Android 12.

To enable weather alerts in Android 12, long press the Weather app. Go to App info > Notifications > Weather Alert to enable weather alerts.

Enable Weather Alerts (Weather App)

The Weather app is the easiest and most consistent way to get weather updates. More specifically, you can add a weather widget to your home screen that allows you to see the current weather conditions in real time.

  1. Open the app drawer on your Android 12 device by swiping up from the bottom of the home screen. From there, find the Weather app.
  2. Long press the app icon. From the options that appear, tap the App information knob.

  3. Select Wireless Emergency Alerts.
  4. Enable all sliders for the alerts you want to receive. In some parts of the US you will find a State and Local Tests switch.
