If you accidentally turned off your iPhone’s automatic iOS updates, you may be struggling to find the right section to turn them back on. That sweet iOS 16 is waiting for you! As it turns out, the slider isn’t hidden that deep in your phone after all. Business Insider gives you a step-by-step process, and it all starts in your settings window. Once you’re in Settings, hit the General button and then the Software Update button which can be found at the top of the page after About. That will open a new page, where you will see the available iOS update. At the top of that window, you will see a button called Automatic Updates. If it’s set to “off,” click it and slide the switch so it’s “on.”
It’s that simple, and yes, it’s a very different process than updating your apps automatically, according to The Verge. Just make sure you have enough space on your phone for the new iOS update, as it won’t download if you have less than 4.2 GB of storage space left. Additionally, it’s probably a good idea to only download the update if you’re on Wi-Fi, as these large downloads can consume a large chunk of your data, according to iGeeksBlog.
