How to switch from a digital to analog stopwatch on iPhone

You don’t have to stick to the standard Stopwatch view. Here’s how to switch between a digital and analog view when using your iPhone to time something.

The Clock app has been with iOS since the launch of the mobile operating system in 2007 and is one of those apps that is timeless. Since iOS 10, the stopwatch in the Clock app also has an analog watch face

It’s quite easy to switch from the modern digital face to the fancy, sophisticated analog face. The analogue is not only easier to read, but also has extra functionality.

The update to macOS Ventura brings the Clock app to the Mac and also features an analog stopwatch face. To use it, select “View analog stopwatch” from the View menu at the top of your screen, or by clicking directly on the digital stopwatch display.

Interestingly, on the macOS version, when you use the analog watch face and press the lap button, the display switches back to the digital display and your laps are shown below the counter.

If you regularly use the Clock app’s Stopwatch feature and fancy a change, try the analog watch face. If it’s not quite to your liking, you can always switch back to the understandable digital version whenever you want.
