Last year, camera maker Leica launched the first smartphone from the Leica brand. The Leica Leitz Phone was basically a rebranded version of an existing Sharp phone, but it featured a 20MP Leica camera system with a 1-inch image sensor, a 6.6-inch Sharp IGZO display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and other premium specs.
Now it’s time for round two and this time Leica has introduced a phone with a higher resolution camera, higher screen refresh rate and faster processor. Unfortunately, just like the original, the new one Leica Leitz Phone 2 is sold exclusively in Japan.
The Leica Leitz Phone 2 is basically a Sharp Aquos R7 with modified Leica design and elements. The standout feature is a 47MP primary camera with a 1″ sensor, but there’s also a 6.6-inch 240Hz display, 12GB of RAM and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Only in Japan. https://t.co/m0hsxrIr5F
