LG Wing is one of the most innovative smartphones from LG released in 2020 with Android 10 OS. In November last year, the device received its first major OS upgrade in the form of the Android 11 upgrade. And now it’s time for the second major software upgrade: the Android 12 upgrade.
LG Wing’s Verizon and T-Mobile models get Android 12 update in the US The latest software upgrade is coming with a slew of new features and improvements such as performance optimizations, bug fixes and more. The new software will increase the monthly security patch release until July 2022 and include a range of new features.
Verizon launches the new software with the F100VM30a version number, it comes with Verizon’s system update 13. Being a major upgrade, it requires a huge amount of data to download the new Android version. It is already available to many users.
Moving to T-Mobile, then the upgrade is underway with the F100TM30c software version and measures around 1.09 GB. The upgrade is already available to many users, here is a comment from an LG Wing user on the company’s community forum and also confirmed in a YouTube video.
For features, the Android 12 update on LG Wing comes with features such as privacy indicators, better permissions, a privacy dashboard, the ability to block camera and microphone access, Safety and emergency section in Settings, Lockdown option in the main menu, IoT control menu in the notification shade, a new feature to free up space for apps that haven’t been used for months, and a few more.
Unfortunately, it lacks the expected Android 12 Material You themes and widgets, but you can still taste the other features of Android 12 on your LG Wing. To update your phone to the new version, go to Settings > System updates > Check for new system update. If there is a new update, you can simply download it and restart your phone. But if the update isn’t available yet, you can wait a few days.
Make sure to backup important data before updating your smartphone. Also make sure you charge your smartphone for at least 30%.
