Another week gone by, so let’s recap. Apple dropped shiny OS updates for the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. For those devices that are not eligible for iOS 16, Apple has also released iOS 15.7. And for iPad users, iPadOS 16 is coming later, it was delayed due to issues with Stage Manager’s new Multitasking feature.
Sony has announced a special Xperia 1 IV Gaming Edition with 16 GB RAM, 512 GB storage and Xperia Stream accessory bundled. The accessory connects to the phone via USB-C and brings a full-sized HDMI port in addition to a LAN port, a headphone jack and a USB-C port on top.
It has no extra buttons or joysticks, so you’re still gaming on the phone’s display. Xperia 1 IV Gaming Edition is on sale for JPY 175,000, which amounts to $1,225. It is already available for pre-order in Japan from Sony and Docomo.
Apple’s A16 chip was tested on AnTuTu and recorded an impressive 28% improvement in its GPU score compared to the A15. Meanwhile, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 14 Plus is showing weaker demand compared to even the iPhone mini-series which was discontinued due to low sales.
Google teased the colors of the upcoming Pixel 7 through crazy chips in Japan – Snow Cheese is the white (snow), Hazel Onion is the dark sage-slash-olive (Hazel) color, Salty Lemon is the yellow (lemongrass) variety , and Obsidian Pepper is the black (Obsidian) one. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will arrive on October 6.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 200MP sensor has been detailed this week. It is reportedly “100% confirmed” to have 0.6 µm pixels on a 1/1.3″ sensor with an f/1.7 aperture on the front.
We saw the first renders of the OnePlus 11 Pro. It will have a circular camera module with three cameras, no details on that yet, but we also see a warning slider, which was notoriously missing from the OnePlus 10T.
